Taming the Wild Veggie Patch

To say I'm an avid gardener would be misleading. I love to garden, but only things that I can eat. I even start planning/ container plants in February when plants can't go in the ground until May. ( I've unsuccessfully tried earlier )
I'm the crazy cat lady of the plant kingdom, who tries to give away my orphan seedlings because I've started too many to use in my garden. Who knew they'd all spout?

I've been falling down on the job the past few years, though, and my pretty veggie garden has gone to ruin. Last year, I didn't even plant. I just grew really tall grass.
This year, I restarted my garden, only to find two really large ant hills in the middle of it. I have found out that you can't get rid of them by shoving a stick into them and wiggling it around. ( applying ointment now ) Having no idea how to get rid of them without chemicals, I decided to plant a small garden on the ant-free side. So far, so good....

Let's hope I actually get veggies this year.

Pandemonium? Bound! (I hope)
